Big Green Egg Swedish Match Play Championship 6-8 Jul ⛳️
A late update from this year’s Swedish Match Play Championship. We played at the beautiful Kungl. Drottningholms GK and the conditions on the course are just perfect, definitely worth a visit!
As usual in this tournament it’s either win or get knocked out. We (me and my awesome caddie Robert Pettersson) played our first match this morning and got off to a really good start. 6 up through 9 holes was better than we ever could have asked for. We won the match on hole 15.
I felt really good about my game and played really solid golf, which we also continued to do in my second match in the afternoon. Unfortunatelu, as we all know, in match play there’s only win or lose, nothing in between. That’s what makes it both fun and frustrating at the same time. Even though we played well our opponent played better today. We lost the second match on 15 and were knocked out of the tournament.
Not happy to go home this early but it is what it is. Better luck next year…
I still have something else to look forward to. Next week we’re going to Upsala GK for the annual Swedish Club Team Championship. This is always one of the most fun weeks of the year so I’m really excited about that.
